How to involve the whole VUB community in a global event of outmost importance?

Paris 2015 was to be the biggest and most important summit ever to take place around the topic of climate change.

As an independent and critical-thinking university, the VUB (Free University of Brussels) assigned C+H the task of developing a concept in which the entire VUB community was involved: from students and lecturers to alumni and sympathisers.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE

The We Are Paris project gives centre-stage to the role of the informed citizen. As such, the project was aimed at uniting as many interested parties as possible and enabling an exchange of knowledge, information, inspiration and positive ideas.

 

‘We Are Paris’ holds a three-fold message:

1. Scientific research and its valorisation have shown that people can already do a lot today to help the climate;
2. Our students are developing themselves as informed citizens to make a positive contribution to creating a better world;
3. The VUB calls on all policy makers to dare to put the measures in place that are needed to protect the earth for future generations. 

 

11 CITIES, 11 TOPICS

On the road to the Paris Summit, eleven cities at home and abroad were visited by 22 VUB students. Each pair of students reported back about an exciting climate project, company or research.
